He attended Cooper schools and joined the US Navy in 1936. Mr. Brice married Miss Agatha Florence "Gaye" Schutz on August 1, 1942 in Woodside, Long Island, New York. They were married for 63 years and were blessed with two children.
Hugh left the Navy in 1945 and was in the Naval Reserve from 1945 to 1959. They moved to Texas in 1948. After farming for a few years with his father, he worked for many years in sales at Shaw Equipment Company in Dallas, retiring in 1979.
Hugh was a longtime member of the St. Mary's Catholic Church, Sherman, where he was a former member of the St. Mary's School Board, the St. Mary's Cemetery Association, the St. Mary's Home and School Association, and the Knights of Columbus.
Left to mourn his passing and cherish his memories, Hugh was survived by his wife, Gaye of Sherman; one daughter, Carolyn Brooks and her husband Cap of Austin; and one son, Gerald and his wife Claire of Cambridge Shores, Pottsboro, Texas. Mr. Brice was a dedicated and loving family man. They will miss him dearly
A rosary was recited by Deacon John LeBlanc, St. Mary's Catholic Church, at Waldo Funeral Home Chapel.
Mass of Christian Burial was held in the St. Mary's Catholic Church. Rev. Jeremy Myers, Pastor of the church officiated.
