HENRY E. HEDRICK
HINTON -- Henry Ellsworth Hedrick, 74, of 203 Eighth Ave., died Saturday evening, Oct. 23, 1993, at his home, following a short illness.
Born May 31, 1919, at Barger Springs, he was the son of the late Henry and Lettie Wilson Hedrick.
Mr. Hedrick was a lifelong Summers County resident. He was a retired Summers County school teacher with 44 years of service and a graduate of Concord College.
Mr. Hedrick taught West Virginia history for many years and had more than 70 of his students receive the Golden Horseshoe.
He was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church at Talcott and 50-year member of the Talcott Masonic Lodge. He attended the First United Methodist Church, Hinton and had served as a Summers County Deputy Assessor.
Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Beulah Garten Hedrick; a son, Norvin "Pete" Hedrick and his wife Barbara, of Ripley; two daughters, Mrs. William (Delores) Bleau of Walbridge, Ohio, and Mrs. Larry (Karen) McClintie of Meadow Bridge; a sister Mrs. Leighton (Leah) Whanger of Poca; six grandchildren, Greg Hedrick and Melanie and Alex McClintie and two great-grandchildren.
Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors Chapel with Pastors Eileen Schneider and Robert Wiseman officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery, Ballengee.
Friends may call from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
