FLOYD A. BENFIELD, 79, of Big Pool, Md., passed away Sunday, Feb. 4, 2018. Born March 9, 1938, in Big Pool, he was the son of the late Morris A. Benfield and Florence (Zirkle) Benfield.
Floyd was a 1956 graduate of Clear Spring High School. He was formerly employed with MP Moller and later retired from L & L Hydraulics. Floyd was a member of Mooresville Church of God, where he served as treasurer.
Floyd is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Betty A. (Whittaker) Benfield; three daughters, Rose Mills, Sharon McKinney, and Roseanne Brown; two sons, David Benfield and Michael Benfield; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Floyd was preceded in death by a brother, Jay Benfield.
Services will be held at Donald Edwin Thompson Funeral Home, Inc., Clear Spring, Md. Interment will follow at Parkhead Cemetery in Big Pool.
