Sherry Lynn Pixley, 45, of Carbondale, formerly of West Salem, IL, passed from this life to the next on January 17, 2018 at Memorial Hospital in Carbondale.
She was born December 22, 1972, in Olney, IL to Katherine (Perry) and Arthur Pixley.
Sherry was a homemaker. She was a loving person and an avid animal lover.
She is survived by her sister, Elizabeth (Gary) Hicks of rural West Salem; her brother, Chad (Lynsey) Pixley of West Salem; her significant other, Tommy Witwer of Carbondale, and a special great-aunt, Ruth Pixley of West Salem. Also surviving are three nephews: Hunter Pogue, Caleb Pixley, and Kyle (Melissa) Hicks; one niece, Amanda (Nathan) Foley; and several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Jerry Pixley.
Visitation will be held Monday, January 22, 2018 from 9:30 to 11 a.m. at Ingram Funeral Home in West Salem. Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. with burial to follow at the Moravian Cemetery in West Salem.
The family requests those in attendance dress casually.
Memorials may be made to Elizabeth Hicks to help with funeral expenses.
