Cias Baker Brooks, Jr., 93, of Midland, passed away Monday, February 5, 2018 at his home.

C.B. was born February 29, 1924 in Lamar County, AL to the late Cias Baker Brooks, Sr. and the late Dora Faye Helms Brooks. He was also preceded in death in 2000 by his beloved wife, Anita Burns Austin Brooks; brother,Julian Baker Brooks, James Gordon Brooks,Billy Oneal Brooks; sister, Edna Brooks Deaton; and nephew, James Deaton.

The funeral service to celebrate his life will be at 11:00 am on Friday, February 9, 2018 at First Baptist Church of Midland, officiated by Rev. Tom Gibbs. The burial will follow in the church cemetery, with military honors conducted by the Cabarrus County Veterans Honor Guard and North Carolina National Guard Honor Guard.

He is survived by his nephews, Ronald Keith Deaton, Sr. and wife Julie, Charles Brooks and wife Patsy, Julian Brooks and wife Wanda; nieces, Helen Brooks Stallings and husband Joker, Peggy Brooks, Teresa Deaton; special cousins, Gayle Austin, Pat Furr, Norma Viviano-Floyd; and a host of grand nieces and nephews and cousins.

C.B. proudly served his country during WWII as a Sergeant in the 211 Army Air Force Base Unit in England.
