FREEMAN – Daniel Webster Miller, 90, of PO. Box 88, (Coaldale), Freeman, died on Tuesday May 13, 1997 at Princeton Community Hospital.

Born on April 11, 1907, in Ashe County, N.C., he was a son of the late Alex and Mary Miller.

He had been a resident of Coaldale for 62 years and was a retired coal miner having retired from Pocahontas Fuel Company with 42 years of service. He was a member for the UMWA and a member of the Pentecostal Apostolic Church of Princeton.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Frances Mae Call Miller on April 4, 1994; a son Bryant Miller in 1960 and a daughter, Anna Josephine Spangler in 1989.
Survivors: seven daughters, Barbara Bevins of Coaldale, Kathy Quizenberry of Duhring, Shirley Donelson of Mt. Lookout, Charlottee Treolo of Beltsville, Md., Gladys Kemp of Glouster, Va., Pauline Klinger of Broomfield, Colo., and Euna Hawley of Amarillo, Texas; three sons, Clifford Miller of Laurel, Md. and Jerry Miller and Jimmy Miller of Elkridge, Md.; two sisters, Mildred Bare and Dorothy Bare, both of North Carolina; brothers, Joe Miller and Garfield Miller, both of North Carolina; 26 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 6 p.m. at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home Chapel in Bluewell with Rev. Scott Hall officiating.

Burial will follow in the Miller Family Cemetery at Coaldale.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 6 to 9 p.m.
