Harris Vorce Dies;
Retired Throop Farmer
Harris Vorce, 87, of Lasher Road, Throop died Friday at the Cayuga County Infirmary after a long illness.
He was a native and life resident of the Town of Throop. He operated his own farm until his retirement several years ago.
Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Lillian Weston Vorce, a patient at the Horan Nursing Home in Weedsport: a nephew, George N. White of Port Byron, three nieces, Miss Ruth V. Weston of Throop, Mrs Mary Stone and Mrs Anna R. Howell of Port Byron; several grand nieces and two great grandnieces.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at the Scott and Mann Funeral Home in Port Byron, Rev. Dolen Morris, pastor of the Port Byron Methodist Church will officiate. Burial will be in Mount Pleasant Cemetery in the spring.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday.
