James Roy Sandlin, beloved husband of Francis Lee, passed away April 8, 2015, surrounded by loving family in Dallas, TX. Aged 92 years, 7 months, and 17 days.

James Roy was a proud veteran, revered mason, and faithful Christian follower. Brother James was a freemason- a past Grand Master of Delta Lodge #1240 in Cooper, TX. A veteran of the Second World War, James served in the Navy under the 46th CB Battalion in the Southwest Pacific Theater of Operations, namely Guadalcanal; where he earned a Navy Medal of Valor. From 1946 to 1978.

James was a devoted employee of the Dallas Transit System, working as a mechanic. James was a long time member of Ferguson Road Baptist church in Dallas, TX. In his free time, James was always resourceful. He enjoyed carpentry and painting, as well as home improvement projects and maintenance of his property. He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Bill and Florence Sandlin, as well as 8 siblings: Juanita, Frankie, Bud, Martha, Katherine, Mary Hellen, Billy, and Jack, all originating from Pecan Gap, TX. He is survived by his wife of 73 years, Francis Lee, loving daughter Jerry Jones, dear sister, June Roderick, as well as 5 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He will be laid to rest at Restland Cemetery in Dallas, TX. Condolences may be offered at www.RestlandFuneralHome.com.
