Mr. Prettyman was born February 2, 1934 at Mulberry, Kansas the son of Bud and Juanita Lakey Prettyman. Art was a retired custodian and bus driver for Northeast High School USD 246 Arma.
His Hobbies were coon hunting and working his pulling ponies.
He married Patricia Ann LeGrande in February 1958 at Ft. Lewis, Washington. They had the honor of celebrating 52 glorious years together. Mrs. Prettyman preceded him in death December 10, 2010.
He was a lifetime resident of Mulberry. He was a veteran who served in the U.S. Army from October 1956 to October 1958.
Survivors include two daughters, Pam Hornback and fiancé Tim Loveland of Blue Springs and Debbie King of Independence, Missouri, a sister, Wanda (Don) Perkins of Pittsburg, two brothers, Clem (Lucille) Prettyman of Joplin, Missouri, and Jerry (Sheila) Prettyman of Sellersburg, Indiana, three grand-daughters, Erika (Chris) Whitehill, Emily Hornback, and Brielle King and one great grand-daughter Addy King.
He was preceded in death by his parents and wife Patricia.
Funeral Services will be at 1:00 p.m. Friday, February 2, 2018 at the Bedene Funeral Home at Arma, Kansas with Chaplain Wayne Mason Officiating. Burial will be in the Pittsburg Garden of Memories Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 12 to 1 p.m. at the Bedene Chapel prior to the services. The family would especially like to thank the Arma Health and Rehabilitation Center and Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice. The family suggest memorials to the Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice.
