John died when Phoebe was 72 and she went to live with daughter, Sylvia, in Peckville. In the summertime she went back to the old farm at Kizers. Relatives took turns going there with her. The farm was a few blocks from Kizers Pond, and they owned all the land around the area.
Phoebe made beautiful quilts. Later in life she made one for each of her grandchildren`, finishing the last one for Marjory Kizer (Williams, Wood), when Phoebe was 92.
