He was born on May 31, 1925 to Harold and Leona Goldman Weller. He grew up in the Bismarck Illinois area, graduated from Bismarck High School, and served in the U.S. Navy from 1943 to 1946. He was married to Betty L. Dunavan for 65 years until her death in 2011. He married Wanda Nafziger in 2013, and she survives.
Other survivors include son Michael (Mary) Weller of Danville, daughter Marla (Jim) Tucker of Danville, daughter Rhonda King of Massachusetts, seven grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. Also surviving are brothers Richard (Nadeane) Weller of Danville, Kenneth (Janet) Weller of Fithian, sister Karen Drennan (Mike Mains) of Danville, brothers-in-law Wes Bieritz of Danville, and Clarence Turner of Attica Indiana, and many nieces, nephews and extended family.
Jack was preceded in death by his parents, an infant son and great-grandson, wife Betty, brothers Harold Jr. and Bill, sister Sheila, and sisters-in-law Reva and Dorothy.
Jack retired from Hurletron-Altair in 1987. He was a member of Southside Church of Christ in Danville, and was an honorary lifetime member of the Pollywog Association in Oakwood, Illinois.
Visitation will be from 10am-noon, on Tuesday, February 6, followed by services at noon at Southside Church of Christ, 611 S. Forrest, Danville, Illinois with Kevin Ziegler officiating. Burial with military rites will follow at the Danville National Cemetery. Memorials in Jack’s memory may be made to Southside Church of Christ, or charity of donor’s choice.
