David was a Crime Scene Photographer, Master Peace Officer, Field Training Officer and a Police Instructor with Precinct 4. He also taught classes at the North Harris and Montgomery County College Police Academy. He also wrote monthly articles for numerous subdivision newsletters.
He is preceded in death by his mother Jessie Mae Blankenship and nephew Mike Siggins. David is survived by his beloved wife of 40 years: Dorothy Ann Blankenship, daughters: Dina Michelle Vinson and husband Bryan and Darla Denise El-Khazen and husband Raja, grandsons: David El-Khazen, Ethan El-Khazen and Benjamin Vinson, brothers: Randall Blankenship and wife Sonia and Dennis Blankenship and wife Becky, sister: Donna Blankenship Mowad, nephews Patrick Blankenship, Scott Blankenship and Scott Siggins, nieces Sharmin Moss and Bonnie Zachary along with numerous other family members and life long friends.
