Mr. Spring was born Dec. 4, 1928 in Attica, a son of the late Clyde and Grace Matters Spring.
Mr. Spring was retired from New York State School for the Blind, where he worked for 25 years as a stationary engineer. He was an avid gardener, a 1946 graduate of Alexander High School and also worked at Attica Correctional Facility an Attica Lumber Company.
Mr. Spring was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church of Attica and a life member of Alexander Fire Department.
Surviving are his wife of 51 years, Patricia Brown Spring of Alexander; three sons, Keith (Barbara) Spring of Jupiter, Fla., Jeffrey (Laurie) Spring of Hamlin and Steven (Katrina) Spring of Alexander; a brother, George Spring of Florida; a sister, Jean (Jack Swabb of Holley, seven cherished and loving grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was also a brother of the late Kenneth Spring.
There are no calling hours. A memorial service is 11 a Monday at Marley Funeral Home, 135 Main St., Attica.
Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery, Attica. Memorials in lieu of flowers may be made to Trinity United Methodist Church or Alexander Rescue Squad.
