John Harmych, 52, formerly of 36729 Bauerdale, Avon, died in Belleaire Beach, Fla., yesterday after being stricken apparently with a heart attack.

A Navy veteran of World War II, he was an electrical supervisor at the Lorain-Cuyahoga Works, U.S. Steel Corp, retiring in 1973 after 30 years service.

Mr. Harmych who was born in Richland, W. Va., lived in Lorain most of his life and moved to Florida a year and a half ago. He was a member of St. Mary Ukranian Orthodox Church.

Surviving are his wife, Anna, to whom he was married 29 years, two daughters, Mrs. Karen Chastain, Broken Arrow, Okla., and Elaine of D. of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.; his mother, Mrs. Kathryn Harmych, Lorain; two brothers, Michael, Amherst and Steve Anaheim, Calif., a sister, Mrs. Albert (Anne) Skapin, Lorain.

Friends will be received in the Emil Dovala Funeral Home, Lorain, today from 7 to 9 p.m. and tomorrow from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Parastas service will be conducted there tomorrow at 7 p.m.

Services will be Saturday at 9 a.m. in the funeral home and at 9:30 a.m. in St. Mary Ukranian Orthodox Church. The Rev. Lev Opoka will officiate and burial will be in Ridge Hill Memorial Park.
