MRS. HULDA WARD DEAD

The sad news reached Dayton Monday of the death of Mrs. Hulda Ward, a sister of Mrs. C.V. Peterson, of this place at her home near Willard, New Mexico, who passed away last Saturday noon, aged 62 years, 3 months, 6 days. Hulda Rosell was born in Kristianstads län, Sweden, March 7, 1846, where she grew to womanhood and emigrated to America in 1865, stopping first at Moline, Ill., where she remained three years being there united in marriage to James Ward. A few months later she came with her husband to this vicinity, where she lived, with the exception of a few years spent in Minnesota, until her removal to Roswell, New Mexico, in 1903. A year ago last March she removed to Willard, New Mexico, where she had entered a homestead, upon which she still lived at her death. She was the mother of seven children, a son having passed away before her a number of years ago, while six daughters survive to mourn her loss. Mrs. Ward was highly respected by all who knew her, and was a lady of much energy of character. She was a faithful member of the Adventist church, earnest in her devotions to her great Creator. A host of friends of the family in this vicinity extend them sympathy in their sad hour of bereavement.
