SHELBURNE, VT. - May Marie (Winderl) Rockwood, a resident of Shelburne, passed away on Wednesday, January 17th 2018 at the age of 90.

She was home birthed on March 4th 1927 in Burlington, Vt., she was the daughter of Marie Claire Winderl, she was lovingly raised by David & Theresa E.(Winderl) Felio Jr. as their own daughter.

In 1930, May was voted "Most Beautiful Baby in Vermont" in a statewide newspaper contest.

She was a graduate of Nazareth School & Mount St. Mary's Academy. She started playing accordion at age 9 and became accomplished enough to play with"Little May & the Sunsetters" for several years.

She worked as a Secretary at Roth Trading Co., then at the Howard Bank before marrying Wallace "Wally" William Rockwood on June 19th 1948 in Burlington, Vermont.

They were blessed with 8 children and a marriage that lasted until Wally's death on December 14th 1987.

In addition to her husband; Wallace Rockwood, she was predeceased by her birth mother; Marie Crockett, stepfather; George Crockett, the parents who raised her; David Felio on September 4th 1956 and Theresa Felio on July 10th 1973, two sons; Infant Thomas Alan Rockwood on April 20th 1961 and David Michael Rockwood on November 23rd 2008, one daughter-in-law; Beverly Jean (Mead) Rockwood on February 8th 2014, one daughter; Bonnie Louise Rockwood on July 20th 2017, one son-in-law; Stephen "Steve" Karl Francis Sr. on August 21st 2010, one sister; Betty Lou (Felio) Richard on August 21st 2011, two brothers-in-law; Kenneth "Ken" Arthur Richard on October 18th 2010 and Robert Porter, and one grandson; Jeffrey "Rocky" Wallace Ellsworth Rockwood on April 19th 2012.

She will be Cremated and buried beside her beloved husband; Wally to to rest together in peace together at the New Mount Calvary Cemetery on Plattsburg Avenue in Burlington, Vt.
