BUDA - Darlene Hilda Adkins, 87, of Buda died at 4:28 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 12, 2011, at her home in rural Buda.
Born June 15, 1924, in Princeton to David and Hilda (Larson) Linden, she married Gene Adkins on Dec. 9, 1944, in Bradford. He survives.
She was a 1942 graduate of Bradford High School.
She was a homemaker and a farmer's wife.
She was a member of the Leet Memorial United Methodist Church in Bradford.
Also surviving are one son, Dennis (Kirby) Adkins of Thousand Oaks, Calif.; two daughters, Gloria (Gary) Beaverson of Roxborough, Colo., and Julee (Marty) Sieks of Kansas City, Mo.; four grandchildren, Harmoni Adkins of Los Angeles, Calif., Karli Adkins of Thousand Oaks, Calif., Jason (Dong-hee) Savage of Overland Park, Kan., and Ryan Sieks of Kansas City, Mo.; two great-grandchildren, Aiden Savage of Overland Park, Kan., and Kaitlyn Sieks of Kansas City, Mo.; and one sister, Ruth Driscoll of Blue Earth, Minn.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Ernest Linden; and one sister, Arlene Tumbleson.
Cremation rites will be accorded, and a memorial service will be at a later date.
Memorials may be directed to the Leet Memorial United Methodist Church in Bradford or Bradford Rescue Squad.
The Grant-Johnson Funeral Home in Bradford is in charge of arrangements.
