Terrell Clifton Bean, 94, formerly of Louisville, Kentucky, died on January 20, 2018. He was a resident of Douglas T Jacobson veterans nursing home in Port Charlotte, Florida.

Born in Louisville, Kentucky to the late Pansy Stibbens and Maurice Bean, Terrell Bean attended Southern High School in Louisville, Kentucky. Mr. Bean was then called to serve his country in WWII. He served in the infantry from March of 1944 until November of 1945. He received the Purple Heart. After the war, Mr. Bean worked for the L&N Railroad until his retirement in 1985.

In 1949 Mr. Bean married Virginia Phillips of Covington, Kentucky. They made Louisville their home for 55 years. After retirement he was about "golf and grandkids". He also enjoyed working on cars and traveling. In 2004, Mr. and Mrs. Bean relocated to Muncie, IN to live near their daughter. In 2015 he again relocated to Port Charlotte, Florida.

Mr. Bean was pre-deceased by his wife of 63 years, Virginia Bean, his infant son, Terrell Bean, Jr., his grandson, Timothy Patterson, his brother, Maurice Bean, Jr., and son-in-law, Robert Rothenhausler. He is survived by 2 daughters, Judy Rothenhausler of Montclair, NJ, and Margie Patterson and husband, Alan, of Punta Gorda, FL. He is also survived by 4 grandchildren, and 3 great grandchildren.

Visitation will be Friday, January 26, 2018 from 11:00 am - 1:00 pm at Nunnelley Funeral Home, 4327 Taylor Blvd., with service at 1:00pm, followed by burial at Bethany Memorial Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Unite2Fight Paralysis. The address is 3078 Eliot Dr., Hood River, OR 97031.
