Fort Dodge- Eugene M. Phillips, 87, passed away Monday January 22, 2018 at the Paula J. Baber Hospice Home, Fort Dodge.

Graveside services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 3, 2018 at the Callender Cemetery with Pastor Greg and Pastor Deb Stano officiating. Palmer Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Eugene is survived by his wife, Shirley; son, David; daughter, Karen (Doug); granddaughter, Sarah and her fiancé, Shawn.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Ellen (Knutson) Phillips; infant sister, Dorothy; sister, Lennice Barnum; and brother, Donald Phillips.

Eugene M. Phillips, was born April 18, 1930 in rural Callender and graduated from Callender High School in 1948. He served in the United States Navy for 2 years. Gene was then united in marriage to Shirley Davis on August 18, 1962 at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church, Callender. Gene was employed for Hormel's for 30 years. He was a member of Our Saviour's Lutheran Church, Callender and loved to fish and hunt.
