Born December 6, 1948 in Chattanooga, Tennessee, he was a proud veteran of the United States Marine Corps and a member of the V.F.W.
Larry worked as a truck driver and mover for several companies. He loved to fish and spend time with his family.
Surviving are his four children, Lisa (Dave) Pawlus of Marion, IN, Michelle (Mark) Finley of Plainfield, Larry York, Jr. of Addison, and Jason York of Bensenville; seven grandchildren, Hannah and Sarah Pawlus, Marissa, Madeline and Emily Finley, Alex York, and Aria Marie Rosario-York; one brother, Lawrence York; one sister, Sharon Morgan; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Kathleen McDonough and his parents, Lawrence and Mae Bell (Holland) York.
Funeral services for Larry D. York will be held Friday, January 26, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. at Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black at Essington Roads, Joliet.
Interment Friday, January 26, 2018 at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery where military rites will be accorded by the Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery Memorial Squad and the United States Marine Corps.
