He was born July 2, 1961 in Cincinnati, Ohio, moving to Roane County as a child. He graduated from Midway High School and was employed by Broadway Electrical Service in Knoxville as a Warehouse Manager. He took great pride in his work, always going above and beyond job description, to make sure things ran smoothly for everyone. He was an avid Star Wars fan and loved watching movies with his grandchildren. He was a professional photographer with several published photos which were always titled, ‘A Moment in Time Photos by Doug’. He also enjoyed fishing and watching college football.
Doug was very devoted to his wife of 19 years, Kelly and always told her it was pure destiny for them to be together. They never left each other without saying, “I Love You” and Doug would always in turn say, “I Love You More.”
Preceded in death by his parents, Denver and Velma Hines Choate.
