Lloyd Albert Schumacher, 89, recently of Eureka, IL, formerly of Metamora, IL, passed away at 6:43 am on Sunday, January 21, 2018 at the Apostolic Christian Home of Eureka.

He was born on June 22, 1928 in Metamora, IL to John H. and Kathryn (Swing) Schumacher. Lloyd married Betty Lou Frey of Remington, Indiana on February 5, 1961. She passed away on March 21, 2015.

Surviving are four sons, Doug Schumacher of Los Angeles, California, Greg (Shelle) Schumacher of Bloomington, Jeff (Tressa) Schumacher of Washington, and Mark (Sean) Schumacher of Greenville, S.C.; eight grandchildren, Drew (Taryn), Joshua, Isaac, Abram, Livia, Mallory, Sofia, and Jake; brother Dale Schumacher of Metamora; and sisters Phyllis Kaufman of Cisna Park, IL and Shirley Leuthold of Peoria. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Stanley, Russell, and William, and sisters Lorine, Evelyn, and Virginia.

Lloyd was raised in Metamora, Illinois and graduated from Metamora High School in 1945. After graduation he served in the United States Army during the Korean War, where he was a medical technician stationed in Panama. In 1960 he opened Schumacher-Grimm, a Chevrolet dealership in Goodfield, Illinois. He later ran the Chevrolet-Buick automobile dealership in Metamora from 1963 to 1981. He was also the Executive Director of Faith, Hope, and Love in Peoria and was involved in ministry at the Peoria County Prison. Lloyd was a charter member and served as president of the Metamora-Germantown Hills Rotary Club, founded in 1968, and was a member of the Washington Apostolic Christian Church.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, January 27, 2018 at the Washington Apostolic Christian Church with church ministers officiating. Visitation will be held from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm on Friday, January 26, 2018 at Mason Funeral Home Metamora Chapel and also from 9:00 am until 9:45 am on Saturday at the church. Burial will be at the Washington Apostolic Christian Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to the Apostolic Christian Home of Eureka, 610 West Cruger Road, Eureka, IL 61530.
