Samuel Sidney Schwab, 94, of Winfield, MO, loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather and brother, went to be with his Lord and Savior on December 29, 2017.

He was born November 22, 1923 in Clarksville, Michigan to Charles and Rose (Keim) Schwab.

Sam served in the U.S. Army during WWII as a staff sergeant in the 288th combat engineer battalion under General George Patton.

Following his discharge he attended Davenport-McLaughlin Institute in Grand Rapids, obtaining a degree in Business Administration.

In June of 1950, he married Patricia Reynolds of Ionia, Michigan.

He was employed at Albion Service Corporation for several years and later became part owner of West Coast Propeller, a marine propeller business, in Florida.

Sam and Pat, plus his business partner (Dean & Isabelle Russell) moved to St. Charles, MO, where they created Central Propeller Company and remained there for several years.

In 1988, Sam & Pat moved to Raintree R. V. Resort in North Fort Myers, FL. Sam soon became employed part-time at the park, since he enjoyed being a busy retiree. They became members of the North Fort Myers Church of the Nazarene, where he was a member of the church board and head usher.

Pat passed away in November 2011 after 61 years of wonderful marriage.

Sam and Pat are survived by: three sons, Terry (wife Tracy) of Louisville, KY, Thomas (wife Ann) of Winfield, MO, and Marc of St. Clari, MO; four grandchildren, Patric, Jessica, Jarrett and Jamie; one great-grandchild (Gemma); as well as sister Margaret Olinsky of Spring Lake, Michigan.

Sam was preceded in death by two sisters; Evelyn Beatty and Esther Coates; and two brothers Harold and Leonard, all of Michigan.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date at the Nazarene Church in Ionia, Michigan. Interment of ashes will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens, Ionia, Michigan also at a later date.
