Arthur Cavender
Arthur P. Cavender, 79, of 606 Putnam St., died at his home Sunday night.
He was born Oct. 25, 1884 at Marinette, Wis., and came here at the age of 5 with his parents. He attended the local schools.
On Sept. 20, 1910 he was married here to Sabina Bonino.
Mr. Cavender was the Wakefield postmaster for eight years in the 1930's. He served on nthe school board and was a real estate agent. In his early years he worked in the mines for a time.
The deceased was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.
Surviving besides his wife, are one daughter, Miss Jeannette Cavender, of Chicago; three sons, Arthur of Springfield, Ill., Dr. Savino of Albuquerque, N.M., and Thomas of Chicago and seven grandchildren. A daughter, Loretta, died in infancy during an influenza flu epidemic and a sister, Mrs. Ella Brewer, died in July.
Funeral services were held Wednesday morning at 9 at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with the Rev. Charles Daniel officiating. Burial was made at Lakeside Cemetery.
