Roy attended Syracuse University on a full-ride football scholarship. He was a United States Army veteran who served in the Korean War. He was employed by the former Hays Manufacturing Co., Geosource and Wendell's. Roy enjoyed football, fishing, and playing Euchre.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Carolyn Fisher.
Survivors include his wife of 42 years, Elaine Fife Stenger Andrews; nine children: Donald Andrews (Wendy) of Saegertown, Darcie Christiansen of Erie, David Andrews (Dawn) of Wattsburg, Daphne Barzano of Erie, Michele Gensler (Kevin) of Knox, Pa., Tracey Mendez of Lawrence Park, Shane Stenger (Sue) of Harborcreek, Troy Stenger (Alicia) of Knox, Pa. and Ryan Andrews (Penelope) of Erie; 22 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; one sister-in-law, Myrna DiSanti (David) of Erie and several nieces and nephews.
Interment in Erie County Memorial Gardens.
