RUTH E. STRINGER, 78, of South Main Street, a secretary for Sears for 2 2years until retiring in 1981, died Tuesday in the West View Nursing Home, West Warwick. She was the widow of Robert E. Stringer.
Born in West Warwick, a daughter of the late William and Gertrude (Graemiger) Fallows, she lived in the Pawtuxet Valley all her life, and was a summer resident of Roy Carpenter's Beach, Matunuck, for many years.
Mrs. Stringer had been a secretary for the Arkwright Interlaken Co. for several years. She was a member of the Philipians of the Church of St. Andrew and St. Philip.
She leaves a daughter, Susan Yeames of Amesbury, Mass.; a son, J. William Stringer of Satellite Beach, Fla.; a sister, Romona Holbrook of Coventry and four grandchildren.
A Requiem Eucharist will be held tomorrow at 11 a.m. at the Church of St. Andrew and St. Philip, Fairview Avenue. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery.
