John “Jack” F. Fluegel

John F. "Jack" Fluegel, 89, of Salem passed away at the VA Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD on January 18, 2018. There will be a 2 pm memorial service at Kinzley Funeral Home in Salem on Monday, January 22 with visitation one hour prior.
John Fluegel was born June 19, 1928 to Fred and Alma (Gifford) Fluegel near Salem, SD. He grew up in the Salem area and after school he enlisted in the United States Air Force and served for more than 22 years, reaching the rank of Master Sergeant. He then returned to Salem where he farmed. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge, the American Legion and the VFW.
Jack is survived by; his sons, Kurt and Patrick; his daughter, Monica; and grandchildren, Makenna, Tyler, Alyssa, Addison, Maci, and Sadi. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Martin and an infant sister.
