Gladys M. Stone Corum, 92, of Temple died at 5:55 PM., Wednesday, April 21, 2004 at the Weston Inn Nursing Home in Temple.

Celebration of Life Services will be 1:00 PM, Monday, April 26, 2004 at Providence Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor David Gage officiating. Burial will follow at the Taylor City Cemetery.

Gladys was born January 24, 1912 in Thrall, Texas to Ed and Laura Kathryn (McDavid) Berry. She married Claude "Pop" Corum in October of 1947. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, La Marque, Texas for over thirty years where she was a Sunday school teacher before moving to Temple. Gladys was very devoted to God, her church, and to her family. She loved music, books, anything to do with education, traveling and her little dogs. She was a loving caretaker to family members, loved ones, and many people in her community.

Gladys was preceded in death by her husband, Claude "Pop" Corum; one brother, Truitt M. Berry; five sisters, Edna Berry Buntyn, Annie Mae Berry Sutton, Eleander Berry Waters, Mary Lee Berry, and Cleo Berry Barkley; and one son-in-law, W.B. "Corky" Knox.

She is survived by two daughters, Jeaneva Stone Knox and Jeanette Stone Hunt and husband, Ray both of Temple; four grandchildren, Janet Lee Schooley and husband, Rick of Temple, Rene Wagner and husband, Richard of Hempstead, Wayne Scott Knox of La Porte, and Shelia Dennison and husband, John of Hempstead; seven great-grandchildren; six great-great grandchildren; one cousin; and several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Rick Schooley, John Dennison, Richard Wagner, Eric Winkelmann, Cody Dennison, and John Paul Ledger.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Ray Hunt, Boyd Waters, Darrell Waters, and U.D. Havelka.
