She graduated from Janesville Parker High School in 1972 and was a Pom-Pom girl there. After graduating, she participated in Miss America Pageants and worked as an airline stewardess. While working as a stewardess, she met Daniel Paul Federici. Danny was an organist for Bruce Springsteen and The E Street Band. Kathi and Danny were married at Asbury United Methodist Church in Janesville on September 16, 1987. Bruce Springsteen was the best man. Kathi and Danny adopted two daughters before they divorced in 2002.
