Zelma Mae Ruyle, 91, of Meredosia, died Tuesday, Nov. 7, 2017, at Heritage Health in Beardstown.
She was born June 28, 1926, in Meredosia, the daughter of Clarence Raymond and Delia Jane Dawson Allen.
She married Hubert Ruyle on July 13, 1946, in Jacksonville and he preceded her in death on Dec. 29, 2015.
She is survived by one son, Stephen (Carolyn) Ruyle of Meredosia; one daughter, Debra (Robert) Spoon of Arenzville; four grandchildren, Chris Ruyle of Meredosia, Scott (Kim) Ruyle of Chapin, Justin (Casey) Ruyle of Meredosia, and April (Alex) DeSollar of Beardstown; twelve great-grandchildren; and one brother, Delbert Allen.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one brother, Charles Allen; and one sister, Violet Ham.
Mrs. Ruyle was a 1945 graduate of Meredosia-Chambersburg High School. She was a homemaker. Zelma enjoyed embroidering and baking. She especially loved to play dominoes with her family.
Cremation rites have been accorded. A combined graveside memorial service for Hubert and Zelma will be held 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 10, 2017, at Oakland Cemetery in Meredosia is in charge of arrangements. Buchanan & Cody Funeral Home in Meredosia is in charge of arrangements.
