Richard "Tony" A. Bennett, 79, of Williamsport, Indiana, passed away at 11 a.m. EST
Tuesday, January 16, 2018 at his residence.

He was born March 19, 1938 in Cayuga, Indiana, the son of the late Jesse Adam and Olive Bernice (Jewell) Bennett. Tony married Sharon A. Lyons on July 30, 1983 in Danville, Illinois. She survives.

Other survivors include his stepson, Barry (Paula) Lyons of Covington, Indiana; stepdaughter, Becky Beddow of Catlin, Illinois; four grandchildren, Ashlie (Jason) Grissom, Becky (Michael) Dinsmore, Cody Lyons and Dalton Beddow; four great-grandsons, David Eli Grissom, August Lee Grissom, Oliver Jameson Grissom and Shawn Ross Dinsmore; one sister, Phyllis (Ferman "Pete") Smith of Arlington, Texas; three brothers, Charles "Fred" (Dorothy) Bennett of Oakwood, Illinois, Jack (Sue) Bennett of Cayuga, Indiana and Mike (Linda) Bennett of Eugene, Indiana and several nieces and nephews.

Tony was preceded in death by two sisters, Nancy Jo Bennett and Mary Ann Van Sant; two brothers, Thomas Jewell and David Bennett; sister-in-law, Nila Bennett and brother-in-law, Karl Van Sant.

Tony was a maintenance supervisor at Inland Container in Newport, Indiana, retiring in April 1998. After his retirement, Tony started TB Design in Williamsport.
He was a member of the Covington First Church of Christ and a former member of the Vermilion County (Illinois) R.C. Club. Tony was a 1956 graduate of Cayuga High School and a veteran of the United States Air Force, serving four years.

He formerly owned and operated the ESP-TV shop in Cayuga. Tony enjoyed building/flying his R.C. aircraft, woodworking (making furniture) and western swing dancing.
