ALICE CAROLINE FORE TODD IN MEMORY OF A MOTHER, GRANDMOTHER, GREAT-GRAND-MOTHER, GREAT-GREAT-GRAND-MOTHER AND SPECIAL FRIEND

Alice Todd, 91, of Abilene passed away December 8, 2005. No services are planned. Arrangements were made by North's Funeral Home, 242 Orange, Abilene, Texas.

Alice Todd had courage, strength, wisdom and faith that we, the family and close friends, appreciated the most. She was firm, kind, bossy but compassionate, strict, generous, and hardworking to the end. She was a precious gem who helped those in need and stood by your side in times of crisis. She was a dear, dear friend and neighbor as well as the BEST mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother.

We all weep, but only briefly, for our loved one, because now it is time for her to travel on. Why cry for a soul set free who has so many things to see and do in her new travels? HOW SHE LOVED TO TRAVEL!!!

Per her request, funeral services will not be held. Arrangements for cremation were made by North's Funeral Home and the urn will be placed beside her late husband Albert Lawrence Todd in the Portland Rose Cemetery, Portland, Oregon.

Alice Caroline Fore Todd was born March 31, 1914, in Oklee, Minnesota. She married Albert Lawrence Todd in Frazier, Montana. After his death in 1961, she continued to race horses in Washington and Oregon and then later worked in a glass production company until her retirement. For the past several years, she resided in Abilene with her daughter Ann Wetsel and husband Roy at 3357 South 20th.

She was preceded in death by her parents, seven brothers, two sisters, one daughter Selma Todd, one son Laurel "Sonny" Todd, one step-daughter Dorothy Todd Grunning, and two great-grandson's Scott Montgomery and Tanner Cole Pointer.

Survivors include one brother Arlie Fore and wife Luverne of Grand Rapids, Minnesota; two daughters Ann Wetsel and husband Roy of Abilene, Texas; and Carol Ann Montgomery of Yakima, Washington; eleven grandchildren; fifteen great-grand- children; one great-great-granddaughter; and several nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be sent to Clearwater Evangelical Lutheran Church, Clearwater Heritage Association, c/o Neil Lillo, Chairman, 219 South Redwood Drive, Mankato, MN 56001. Alice Todd's grandparents were one of the charter members of this church and assisted in building the church. Her parents' wedding was the first held in the church and all nine children were baptized there. The church is listed with the Clearwater Heritage Association and Alice Todd was the first person to make a donation to assist in the church's repairs.
