Jim “Big Jim” Mouser of Savanna died Saturday, January 13, 2018 at his home at the age of 78. He is rejoicing in heaven with his Lord and his momma and daddy. Jim was born January 29, 1939 to Dwight Mouser and Myrtle (Durant) Mouser at their home near Savanna. He graduated from Savanna High School with the Class of 1958. Jim went on to play football at Cameron University in Lawton. He loved football. He coached his two boys when they were young. He was the biggest football fan; if there was a game on television he was watching it. He married Sandra Mae Branson and had two sons. Jim worked in Oklahoma City as a cutter for the Collegiate Cap and Gown Company for many years. He returned to Savanna and began working for Meeco until he fully retired. Being an only child, the care of Jim’s parents in their later years rested entirely on Jim. He never complained about this responsibility. May there be comfort in the fact that he was looking forward to seeing his momma and daddy in heaven. On April 15, 2017, Jim married May (Bitz) Gipson. They were just beginning their lives at the family home place. They both enjoyed the slower pace of life that the country life offered. Jim loved his pets Nanny the goat, Gooser the goose, his dogs Tubby and Lacy but especially his little princess Precious. Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Dwight and Myrtle Mouser. The funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 16, 2018 at Chaney’s Memorial Chapel with Kenny Morrow officiating. Interment will follow at the Durant Family Cemetery, Savanna, OK.
