HAMPTON - Margaret Lucille Sheene, 87, passed into the loving arms of Jesus Christ on Tuesday, January 9, 2018. Born in Evington, VA, she was a longtime Hampton resident where she worked for RCA at NASA and was involved in the Apollo 11 project. She loved spending time with her family.

Preceded in death by her husband George Sheene, her daughter Barbara Rowe, and two grandsons Robert Burns and Robby Sheene, Sr. Survivors include her daughter, Sandra Ward and her husband Van; her son, Bruce Sheene and his wife Karen; her adopted daughter/niece, Brenda Tucker; five grandchildren, Bruce Jason Sheene, Danielle Sheene, Sean Patrick Reynolds, Richard Anderson, and Wayne Kostyal; her great-grandchildren, Damyn Sheene, Ariana McClain, Dylan Reynolds, Kayla Reynolds, Devin Kostyal, Brian Smith, Robby Sheene, Jayson Sheene, and Braedon Sheene; one great-grandchild on the way; and three great-great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 1-2pm Wednesday January 17, 2018 at R. Hayden Smith Funeral Home with a funeral service beginning at 2:00pm. Interment will follow in Hampton Memorial Gardens.
