The death of Perry C. Gaylord, 83, occurred at his home in Moreland, Monday, April 30, 1945, following a brief illness. He was a life-long resident of the town of Dix, having served several years as Justice of the peace. Mr. Gaylord was an elder in the Moreland Presbyterian church and an active member of Olive Branch Grange there.

He is survived by one son, Merwin Gaylord of Moreland; a step-daughter, Mrs. Francis Considine of Cleveland; a stepson, James Moore of Beaver Dams.

Funeral services were held Wednesday at 1:30 p.m., from the home, the Rev. William J. Cartmell officiating. Burial in Montour Falls cemetery.

Perry Gaylord married Mrs. Hattie Dauchy Moore in Corning November 18, 1913. She died in Cleveland, Ohio while visiting her daughter, Mrs. Francis Considine, on February 29, 1936.
