Mr. Hertel died unecxpectedly Friday of an apparent, heart attack in Great Bend. He was born July 15, 1901, in Schoenchen, and had lived in Great Bend most of his life.
His wife, Marian, died in 1964.
Surviving besides his son, Don, is a brother, Andrew, Salina; four sisters, Mrs. Cecilia Unrein, Kansas City, Mo., Mrs. Frank Brungardt, Wichita, Mrs. Al Schmidt, Council Grove, and Mrs. Ted Lang, Hays; and 11 grandchildren.
Funeral will be conducted by the Alsgr. George Husrann, with burial at the Great Bend Cemetery. Rosary will be tonight at 8 at Cook and Weber Funeral Home, Great Bend.
