Pauline Ruth Cook was born October 19, 1933 to Richard C. Wagner and Wilma I Atkinson-Wagner at Yuma, Colorado in Yuma County. She was the youngest of three daughters. She passed away on Monday January 8, 2018 at the age of 84 years in the Haxtun District Hospital in Haxtun, Colorado.
Pauline was raised on a farm east of Yuma. She attended Schramm School through the eighth grade then graduated from Yuma High School in 1952.
On June 4, 1950, she married Tom Lawrence Cook in Yuma, Colorado. They resided on a farm northwest of Yuma where she helped farm for many years. She also worked as a nurse for many years, working in several hospitals and nursing homes including Yuma, Haxtun and Holyoke. She also worked as a traveling nurse. Besides farming and nursing, Paulene also sold and installed caret as well as sold furniture.
Pauline was a Sunday School teacher and was a member of the Assembly of God, Buffalo Grass Church of the Nazarene and House of Praise PCG in Yuma.
She was preceded in death by her husband Tom Lawrence Cook, her parents Richard and Wilma Wagner, Parents-in-laes Frank and Ruth Cook, sister Inez Taylor, brothers-in-law, Clarence Taylor, Lester Bird and Harold Cook. Sister-in-law Helen Cook, Grandson Cheyenne Cook and a special friend Darrell Buskaske.
She leaves to mourn her, three sons, Richard and Glenda Cook of Yuma, Colroado, Thomas and Sheryl Cook of Hereford, Texas and Robert and Karla Cook of Yuma, Colorado. Fourteen grandchildren, and Twent two great-grandchildren, Sister Iva Jane Bird and several nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly. A funeral service was held Friday, January 12, 2018 at the First Nazarene in Yuma, Colorado. Interment followed at the Yuma Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the House of Praise Church of God in Yuma.
