Charles Dan Grooms, age75, of Newport, passed way Friday, January 12, 2018. He spent his career working at Bush Construction Company and was a veteran having served in the United States Army. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Rosa Grooms, and sister, Joyce Clevenger.
He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Shannon Bush Grooms and Deanie Grooms lifelong partner, Rilda Mantooth and her children, Scotty and Lisa Mantooth; grandchildren, William Charles Grooms, Sarah Beth Grooms; step-grandchildren, Dillan Wayne Shults, Chelsea Douglas (Buck Douglas); sister, Shelby Owens; special friend and mother of his son, Betty Bush Grooms; special family Roger and Vesta Lane and Billy and Sheila Mantooth; and other family and friends.
Rev. Tom Mooty officiating. Burial will be held at 11:00 pm Monday, January 16, 2018 in Union Cemetery.
