Lloyd Walter (Whimpy) Meyers, 73, of Anadarko, Oklahoma was called home by the Lord on Saturday, August 16, 2014 at his home near Square Top. Lloyd was born June 5, 1941 in Oney, Oklahoma to Walter & Alta (Barringer) Meyers. Lloyd grew up in the Oney Community and graduated from Oney Public School in 1959. He farmed a bit and worked for different farmers in the area. In 1963, he was drafted into the Army. While in the Army, he was awarded & known as an Expert Rifleman & Sharp Shooter. Lloyd was awarded a weekend pass, and it was then that he married his sweetheart, Barbara Hartline in Wichita Falls, Texas on March 28, 1964. They had just recently celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary. Lloyd had worked for Sequoyah Carpet Mills for numerous years and then drove a road grader until his retirement in July 2003. Lloyd loved his family, neighbors and friends, He especially enjoyed playing Wahoo with them. He loved his church family at the Square Top Baptist Church. His favorite hobby was gardening. He would often over plant saying, "I like to watch it grow!" Another favorable thing was decorating the yard to the fullest at Christmas time. He looked forward to Thursday's where he would go visit his friends at the Anadarko sale barn. Lloyd was a genuine man with a heart of gold. He will be truly missed by all. Survivors include his wife, Barbara of the home; son, Tracy Meyers of Oney, Oklahoma; daughter, Connie Isaacs & husband, Gary of Anadarko, Oklahoma; sister, Fern Williams of Mustang, Oklahoma; 4 grandchildren; numerous cousins, other relatives and a host of loving friends. Lloyd is preceded in death by his parents: Walter & Alta Meyers; 2 sisters: Baby Ruth and Velma Ross. Memorial service will be held at 10:00 A.M., Friday, August 22, 2014 at the Square Top Baptist Church, Anadarko, Oklahoma. Services are under the direction of Smith Funeral Home, Anadarko, Oklahoma.
