Ross Grant Sandlin passed away peacefully Sunday, January 7, 2018 at Avalon Memory Care in Keller, Texas surrounded by several family members.
Ross was born May 5, 1931 in Red River County, Texas to Elizabeth and Edgar Sandlin. Ross was raised on a cotton farm in east Texas and while too young for World War ll he ran the family Texaco station and picked cotton at the age of 11. At the age of 17 he left the farm and headed to Dallas. After only a short time he headed to Ft. Worth where he landed a job downtown at Fake's Furniture. It was there he met the love of his life, a girl who had also recently moved to Ft. Worth from a dairy farm in Springtown, Texas. It was love at first sight when he met Jean Yvonne Grimes. After a short engagement they were married on May 20, 1950 at the age of 18 and 19. They were together 65 years. Ross was part owner of Trinity Distributors, Inc. a very successful wholesale distributor located in Ft. Worth. He was a Master Mason and a member of First United Methodist Church in Ft. Worth.
Preceded in death by parents; wife Jeanie; sisters, Pat and Edwina; and brothers Dick and John.
Survivors: daughter Brenda and husband Rick Vazquez of Ft. Worth, TX; sons, Jack and wife Joan Sandlin of North Richland Hills, TX; Rick and his wife Terri Sandlin of Watauga, TX; eight grand children and eight great grand children.
Services: Saturday, January 13, 2018 at 3:00 p.m in Laurel Land Main Chapel. Reception to follow.
