Alma Claudine Sullivan Adams went to dwell in the house of the Lord on January 9, 2018, at the age of 90. She was born in Lovelady, Texas to Clivey Hill Sullivan, Sr. and Willie Maye Sullivan on May 16, 1927. Claudine's family moved to Lilly Grove where she graduated from Central Heights High School. She later attended business college. She lived in Wells for many years while raising her children. She moved to Nacogdoches and worked as a secretary for Mize Manufacturing Company. She later retired from bookkeeping at Texas Farm Products. An excellent seamstress, Claudine made many beautiful clothes. She was also an excellent cook and specialized in delicious desserts. She loved to plant and tend her flower beds. She loved cats and always had one by her side throughout the years, and a black lab named Molly. Ms. Adams was a member of the First Baptist Church in Wells and later the Missionary Baptist Church in Nacogdoches. She had a great faith and kept her eyes on Jesus throughout the challenges of life. Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Karen Nell Adams Schmidt, and husband Warren; grandson, Jesse Ray Schmidt; brother, Clivey Hill Sullivan, Jr. and wife Diane; nephew, Gary Sullivan; and niece, Susan Sullivan. She is preceded in death by her parents; Clivey Hill Sullivan, Sr. and Willie Maye Sullivan; her son, Kenneth Ray Adams at age 18; daughter, Pauline Joy Adams, 50; infant daughter, Debra Lou Adams; her sister, Nellie Marie Sullivan Naylor; and many beloved aunts and uncles.
Laird Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Wells, Texas.
