Inez Nadine Ayers, age 89, of Parkersburg, Iowa, was born the daughter of Cornelius and Katie (Alberts) Haan on May 1, 1928, at her parents’ home in Aplington, Iowa. Inez attended Aplington High School through the 11th grade.
On January 8, 1946, Inez was united in marriage with Marvin Gene Ayers at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. After their marriage, the couple lived in rural Aplington and Ackley for a short period and in 1948, they moved into Aplington. Inez later moved to Parkersburg.
In her younger years, Inez attended Hitesville Gospel Hall. She was saved on September 15, 1947 through the Bible verse John 3:36, and was later baptized. Inez enjoyed flowers, gardening and baking. Inez was a homemaker for her family and helped in caring for her parents and her grandchildren.
Inez died Tuesday, January 9, 2018, at Maple Manor Village in Aplington, Iowa.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Marvin on March 29, 2002; her parents; three brothers, Harley, Alvin and Duane Haan; and four sisters, Muriel Card, Ruth Kirkelie, Lorraine Fletcher and Rosa Kusian.
Inez is survived by one son, Craig Ayers of Palm Coast, Florida; two daughters, Suzanne Ayers of Aplington and Barbara (Jim) Kluiter of Allison, Iowa; five grandchildren, Amber Tozar, Darren Ayers, Dawn Ayers, Brandon (Carrie) Kluiter and Daniel Kluiter; and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be 1:30 p.m., Thursday, January 18, 2018, at Redman-Schwartz Funeral Chapel with burial at Pleasant View Cemetery, both in Aplington, Iowa.
Visitation will be 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., on Wednesday at Redman-Schwartz Funeral Chapel in Aplington and one hour before services.
