On November 10, 1975, she started working at Jackie’s Beauty Salon in Audubon.

On June 26, 1976, she was united in marriage to Craig Wanninger at the First Presbyterian Church in Audubon, Iowa. They were blessed with two sons John Jesse and Lucas Dean. Nancy continued as a beautician at Jackie’s for over 43 years until she had to retire in June of 2017 due to her failing health.

Nancy loved snowmobiling, fishing, and riding motorcycles. She enjoyed fantasy football and was an avid Green Bay Packers fan. Nancy had a vast collection of costume, antique and custom made jewelry. She enjoyed attending the county fair, nursing homes, and civic organizations displaying and giving programs on the many features and quality of the different types of jewelry. Preceding her in death was her father Leslie Dean Hutchins; her mother-in-law and father-in-law “Big” John and Norma Wanninger and her brothers-in-law Johnie G. Nelson and Keith Vokt.
