Carl Orias Lutz, 79, of Hickory passed away on Saturday, January 6, 2018 at his residence.
Born February 1, 1938 in Burke County, he was the son of the late Bidas Orias Lutz and Carrie Rhoney Lutz.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Margie Shoup Lutz, a grandson, Jason Lutz, and four siblings.
Mr. Lutz worked for Delmark Inc for over 50 years. He was a loving father, grandfather, and great grandfather.
Survivors include two daughters, Jo Ann Lutz of Hickory and Tina Lutz Leonhardt of Lincolnton; three grandchildren, Crystal Mayhew of Vale, Stacy Leonhardt of Granite Falls, and Kevin Leonhardt of Hickory; five great grandchildren, Bethany McCall of Vale, Adam Bryant of Granite Falls, Garrett Sain of Vale, Alyssa Parker of Charlotte, and David Parker Jr of Charlotte; and two siblings.
The funeral service will be held at 2:00pm on Tuesday, January 9, 2018 in the chapel of Bass-Smith Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Catawba Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends an hour prior to services from 1:00pm until 2:00pm at the funeral home.
