ST. PAUL —Euveda M. (Freeland) Kozak Wilson, 92, of St Paul died Thursday, Jan. 4, 2018, at Brookefield Park Nursing Home in St. Paul.

Services will be at 11 a.m. on Jan. 27 at the United Methodist Church in St. Paul. The Rev. Momo Larmeno will officiate. Burial will be in the Elmwood Cemetery at St. Paul. Jacobsen-Greenway Funeral Home in St. Paul is assisting the family.


Euveda was born on June 24, 1925, in Neligh to Louie and Gladys (Verplank) Freeland. She was raised in Nance and Merrick counties and attended Sunflower School.

She married Joseph Kozak in 1944. She was baptized and confirmed in the Catholic Church in Fullerton when she married Joseph. To this union they were blessed with three children, Edward, Mildred, and Frank. They were raised 12 miles north of Palmer. They moved from the farm to St. Paul in 1969. Joseph passed away in 1970.


Following Joseph’s death, Euveda moved to Grand Island with her two sons. She met and married Lyle Wilson in 1972. They resided in several different locations. Lyle died in 1992. She moved back to St. Paul in 1992. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in St. Paul and the Fun & Learn Extension Club. She enjoyed farm life, gardening, canning and being with her family.

Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter and son-in-law, Mildred “Millie” and Mark Simcox of Wolbach; granddaughters, Valerie (Chuck) Randall of Gretna and Jessica (Dave) Prichard of Omaha; great-grandsons, Hunter Randall and Grayson Randall of Gretna; sisters, Wanda (Fred) Rother of Wolbach, Betty Beck of St. Paul, Zella Lubken of St. Paul, Mabel Burkhardt of St. Paul, Minnie Rasmussen of Sun City, Ariz., Ruby (Richard) Henderson of Hastings and Lois (Norman) Petersen of Grand Island; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands; sons, Edward and Frank; a grandson, Jeffrey; two sisters, two brothers and four brothers-in-law.
