She was also preceded in death by her loving husband of fifty-five years, Jose M. Acosta, a daughter, Rosa Acosta and her sisters, Rita, Carmen, Elvira, Shepa and Elena Dominguez and brothers, Pablo and Roberto Dominguez. She was retired from E & B Carpet/Shaw Industries where she worked for over twenty two years. She was a member of the St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. Elva was a very smart, resilient, strong, alpha person who was caring and giving. She was the true Matriarch and was respected by all who knew her.
She is survived by her sons, Alonso Acosta of Cleveland, TN, Jose Acosta of Dalton, GA; daughters and sons-in-law, Enedina Acosta, Martha and Manuel Lopez and Silvester Martinez of Dalton, GA, Elva Acosta Paggi and Giancarlo Paggi of Atlanta, GA; Sylvia Acosta Carrillo of Kennesaw, GA; brother, Damian Dominguez of Mexico; twenty one grandchildren, eighteen great grandchildren, one great-great-granddaughter, nieces and nephews.
Mass of Christian Burial for Mrs. Elva Acosta will be held Saturday morning, January 6, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. from the St. Joseph’s Catholic Church with Father Timothy Nadolski officiating. Interment will follow in the Ponders Whitfield Memorial Gardens with Juan Azua, Jose Hernandez, Adrian Lopez, Ethan Acosta, Tanner Acosta, Alex Acosta, Chauncey Hernandez, Stefan Hernandez and Christian Hernandez serving as pallbearers.
