Mr. Brummet's car was carried approximately one-half mile before the train could be stopped. He had been in Wagoner on business and was returning home at the time of the accident. Witnesses say the crossing warning lights were flashing when he drove on to the crossing in the path of the freight.
Funeral services for Mr. Brummet were held this afternoon at 2 o'clock in the porter Baptist church with burial in the Wagoner Elmwood Cemetery under the direction of the Hersman Funeral Home.
Besides his wife, Emma, he is survived by one son; Louis Brummet, of Porter and one daughter, Mrs. Carl Harp, Anaheim, California. Two granddaughters, three sisters and four brothers, also survive.

Loyd married Emma Frances Roller on April 25, 1909 in Smallette, Douglas County, Missouri. He was the son of Ren S. Brummet and Malvina Vaughn.
