Funeral services for John I. Carl, 89, will be held at 1 p.m. today, at Meadows Funeral Home, 3615 Kirchoff Road, Rolling Meadows. Born May 19, 1913, in West Chicago, he died Wednesday, May 22, 2002, at Church Creek Health Care Center in Arlington Heights. Interment will be in Randhill Cemetery, Arlington Heights. Mr. Carl had worked for the Chicago and Northwestern Railroad for more than 22 years. After retiring, he worked for many years as a custodian for School District 25. Surviving are his wife of 63 [sic] years, Thelma Carl (nee Anderson); sisters Marian (the late George) Poole and Virginia (John) Sayad; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Herbert and Glenn; and sister Mildred Veale. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of services today, at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to First United Methodist Church of Arlington Heights, 1903 E. Euclid, Arlington Heights, IL 60004.
