Tommy Clay Mills, 86, of Big Spring, died Monday, January 1, 2018 at his residence.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 7:00 PM, Thursday January 4, 2018 at Myers & Smith Funeral Home. Funeral service will be at 2:00 PM Friday at Midway Baptist Church with Mike Seay, Pastor of Midway Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be at Coahoma Cemetery.

Tommy was born October 13, 1931 in Weinert, Texas to Vival Louise Lambright Mills and Charlie Clay Mills.

He had been a resident of Howard County for over 60 years.

He married Carolyn Grant on April 8, 1977 in Big Spring.

Tommy worked for Dr. Hamilton and had owned Mills Optical for 40 years.

He had been active in Lions Clubs in Sand Springs, Big Spring and Coahoma for many years.

He was a member of Midway Baptist Church.

Tommy is survived by his wife Carolyn Mills of Big Spring; five daughters: Cindy Gillette and husband Ephram of Evanston, Wyoming, Kathy Johnson and husband Rick of Carmichael, California, Natalie Wheat and husband Horace of Poplarville, Mississippi, Christi Harrison and Brenda Terrazas and husband Trey, all of Big Spring; one sister Jeanette Holtzclaw of Lubbock; 12 grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

Tommy was preceded in death by one daughter Patty Albers; two sisters: Billie Bramblett and Mary Young; his father: Charlie Clay Mills; his mother: Viva Louise Lambright and his step-father: Floyd Jennings.
