Solomon Meyers, who was of Dutch decent, was a prominent farmer of Butler Co. Pa. where he and his wife lived at the time of their deaths. Samuel Meyers, father of Lucinda Meyers was born in Butler county and there grew to manhood. After completing his education in the district schools, he worked on the farm for is father for some years and then purchased a farm of his own in that county. He later sold this property and moved to a farm in Slippery Rock Township, Lawrence County. He spent the remainder of his life there, dying at the age of 72. His wife survived him a few years dying at home of son John B. Meyers at the age of 72.
